The place

The hotel stands at 808 Howell Street, directly attached to the Washington State Convention Center's Arch Building, in the heart of downtown Seattle's business and shopping district.

The concept

At 45 stories and 1,260 rooms, Hyatt Regency Seattle was the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest at its December 2018 opening — a convention-scale property designed by Seattle firm LMN Architects (with Magnusson Klemencic Associates as structural engineer) as a tower of stacked geometric volumes over a transparent, nine-level podium. The hotel was built to LEED Gold standard, a first for a Seattle hotel of its scale, and its two ballrooms — Columbia and Regency, each over 19,000 square feet — were engineered with 24- and 30-foot ceilings on a single level sandwiched between the ground floor and an elevated banquet floor. Positioning is squarely convention and group business rather than boutique.

Dining & wellness

Andare Kitchen & Bar serves Italian-leaning, wood-fired dishes across breakfast, lunch, dinner and happy hour; Daniel's Broiler Prime Steaks & Seafood, a Seattle steakhouse brand, occupies the second floor with an attached speakeasy lounge. The 24-hour fitness center includes Peloton bikes; the hotel has no in-house spa, though limited day passes to Elaia Spa across the street at Hyatt Olive 8 are available.
