The place

The hotel sits in Boston's Financial District, overlooking Post Office Square's small park rather than a street — an unusually green outlook for a downtown business-district hotel. Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Freedom Trail, and State Street's financial towers are all within a few minutes' walk, making it a base equally suited to conference-goers and history-trail tourists.

The concept

Opened in January 2019, the hotel combines an existing 12-story building at 68 Devonshire Street — originally an Art Deco office block clad in Indiana limestone — with a new horizontal addition on an adjoining lot, part of the larger Congress Square development. The combined structure yields 163 rooms, positioned by Hyatt as a design-forward, lifestyle-oriented alternative to the area's more traditional corporate hotels, with an interior built around eclectic, urban-chic furnishings rather than a period restoration of the original office building.

Dining & wellness

Jules on Devonshire, a modern American bistro serving breakfast and dinner, occupies the hotel's ground floor on Devonshire Street, giving the property a street-level dining presence in a stretch of the Financial District that empties out after office hours.
