Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street opened in May 2019 across the lower floors of Boston's third-tallest tower, a 61-story Henry Cobb-designed building in Back Bay. Its 215 rooms sit beneath a wellness floor with an elevated indoor pool — a rare vantage point in a city with few true high-rises.

The place

One Dalton rises from Back Bay, immediately behind the Christian Science Plaza and a short walk from Newbury Street and the Prudential Center — a location that puts the hotel at the geographic center of Boston's shopping and cultural district rather than at its historic waterfront or Financial District edges.

The concept

Opened in May 2019, Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street occupies floors 8 through 21 of a 61-story tower designed by architect Henry N. Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners — Boston's third-tallest building, and the tallest addition to its skyline in decades. The hotel's 215 rooms sit below 160 Four Seasons-branded private residences that occupy the tower's upper floors, a mixed-use structure that let the project justify its height and scale in a way a hotel-only building likely could not have. Floor-to-ceiling glass and marble bathrooms position it firmly at the top of Boston's luxury tier.

Dining & wellness

The hotel houses Zuma, the international Japanese izakaya group's Boston outpost, alongside additional restaurant and bar concepts, and a wellness floor built around an indoor pool with skyline views — an amenity few Boston hotels can match given the city's low-rise building stock.
