Staypineapple opened The Alise Boston on February 28, 2018, rebranding the longtime independent Chandler Inn in the South End into the chain's ninth hotel and its first on the East Coast. The 56-room boutique property kept its seven-story building at Berkeley and Chandler Streets while refreshing rooms and public spaces under the new name.

The place
The Alise Boston sits at the corner of Berkeley and Chandler Streets in the South End, a residential neighborhood of Victorian brownstones and the historic center of Boston's LGBTQ community. The location puts guests within walking distance of two MBTA stations, Back Bay, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Prudential Center and downtown Boston, while staying clear of the denser hotel clusters around the Seaport and Back Bay proper.
The concept
The building operated for decades as the independently owned Chandler Inn before Seattle-based Staypineapple acquired and rebranded it as The Alise Boston on February 28, 2018 — the chain's ninth property and its first on the East Coast. Staypineapple kept the seven-story building's footprint and 56 rooms but replaced beds, bedding and fixtures as part of the conversion, carrying over the brand's playful, colorful boutique identity from its West Coast properties rather than presenting the project as new construction.
Dining & wellness
The Trophy Room, an American bistro on the ground floor, serves as the hotel's restaurant and bar and draws a lively crowd in the evening. Rooms are compact, in keeping with the building's original layout, and the hotel does not offer an on-site fitness center or room service.
