The place
The hotel occupies the lower levels of Deicorp's Hyde Metropolitan tower in the Sydney CBD, with 169 residences positioned above it in the same building.
The concept
Deicorp partnered with hotel operator Trilogy Hotels and Marriott International to bring Sydney's first AC Hotel to the lower floors of Hyde Metropolitan, a tower designed by Candalepas Associates. Construction was underway as of the February 2026 announcement, with a late-2027 opening targeted for the 104-room hotel. Trade coverage has reported that Deicorp assembled the site by acquiring the Polding Centre, an office building dating from the late 1970s, from the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney: a detail this site was not able to independently verify beyond secondary trade-press reporting, so it should be treated as reported rather than confirmed first-hand.
