New hotels in Ireland

Dublin's hotel market has gone through an unusually concentrated run of lifestyle and lifestyle-luxury openings since 2024, four of them brand debuts for the city: Press Up Hospitality Group's The Leinster (January 2024) and The Chancery (March 2024), Ennismore's The Hoxton Dublin (November 2025) and Ruby Hotels' Ruby Molly (May 2024), the German group's first Irish property since its acquisition by IHG. Accor is adding a fifth, larger-scale debut at the other end of the scale: Sofitel Dublin Airport, a 412-room hotel built onto Terminal 2 by the Arora Group, broke ground in November 2024 and is targeting a late-2026 opening as the first Sofitel in Ireland. Cork, the country's second city, has moved more slowly but not stood still — Press Up opened The Dean Cork on Horgan's Quay in December 2020, and Hilton is bringing its Tapestry Collection brand to a restored Georgian terrace on South Terrace, targeting an autumn 2027 opening as the group's first hotel in Cork.

Dublin: four lifestyle-brand debuts in eighteen months

The Leinster, on Merrion Square, and The Chancery, in Dublin 8 against the walls of Dublin Castle, both come from Press Up Hospitality Group and both opened within ten weeks of each other in early 2024 — the former built around a rooftop restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, his first in Ireland, the latter a fossil-fuel-free, LEED Gold-certified new build. The Hoxton Dublin followed in November 2025, Ennismore's first Irish hotel, occupying the historic Central Hotel building on Exchequer Street and building Viking-era ruins discovered on site into its design. Ruby Molly, on Arran Street East near Temple Bar, opened in May 2024 as the first Irish hotel for Ruby Hotels, the Munich-based 'lean luxury' brand IHG acquired in 2024.

Dublin Airport: a first Sofitel arrives at Terminal 2

Sofitel Dublin Airport is a different kind of debut — not a city-centre lifestyle hotel but a 412-room, five-star property built directly onto Terminal 2 by the Arora Group under an Accor management agreement, following a competitive tender the airport authority daa awarded in 2018. Accor and Arora broke ground in November 2024, with the hotel targeting a late-2026 opening as the first Sofitel anywhere in Ireland.

Cork: a slower market, but a real one

Cork's recent openings are fewer but genuine. The Dean Cork, a 114-room design-led boutique hotel from Press Up Hospitality Group — the same group behind The Leinster and The Chancery in Dublin — opened on Horgan's Quay in December 2020. Hilton is now working on the city's first Hilton-branded hotel, a 103-room Tapestry Collection property on South Terrace that restores a protected Georgian terrace designed by Cork-born architect Sir Thomas Deane behind a new six-storey extension; developer JMK Group secured €21.3 million in funding for the project, which is targeting an autumn 2027 opening.
