MEININGER Hotel Dublin Liberties

MEININGER Hotels plans its first Irish property in Dublin's Liberties, a seven-storey new build with 232 rooms and 811 beds reconfiguring a site that already held 2020 planning permission for a hotel. The place

Molyneux Yard, off Engine Alley in Dublin 8's Liberties district, behind the Vicar Street music venue and on the route to the Guinness Storehouse, within walking distance of Heuston Station.

The concept

MEININGER, the European hybrid hotel-hostel group, plans its first Irish property on a Liberties site that already holds planning permission — granted in 2020 to a Salamisso Developments affiliate for an eight-storey hotel, since extended after a legal dispute over the site's purchase was resolved. MEININGER's own version reconfigures the building to 232 rooms and 811 beds — a mix of double, triple, quadruple and six-bed rooms alongside a shared kitchen and play area, the brand's hybrid format aimed at both individual travellers and groups. It will be MEININGER's eighth hotel currently in development and its second in Britain and Ireland after Edinburgh, part of a push toward 50 European locations. A target opening of April 2028 has been announced, though independent confirmation that construction has physically started was not found beyond the company's own press materials.
