The concept The Irish-owned, 150-room hotel opened as a modern four-star property with a dedicated boardroom for up to 12 delegates and a wellness hub. Its sustainability credentials are unusually concrete for a new-build city hotel: it operates completely fossil-fuel free, generating its own electricity via rooftop PV panels and running a grey-water recovery system that feeds its toilets, alongside sensor-operated lighting. It holds LEED Gold certification — at a 70% rating, the highest score under the LEED Hospitality scheme recorded in Ireland or the UK — plus Green Hospitality Certification. Rooms feature herringbone hardwood floors, Irish-made King Koil mattresses, reclaimed Connemara marble and VOTARY skincare amenities exclusive to the property in Ireland.

We had an opportunity for a little trip to Dublin and a stay for 2 nights here was very enjoyable. From check in to check out, we were made feel very welcome by all the staff we met. Our room was a suite with a balcony and hot tub which we enjoyed using both nights. The room wasn’t large but was comfortable with remote controls for everything. Where the TV is positioned is a little nerve wracking when pulled into position to watch from bed.
We enjoyed our bar food both evenings.
Breakfast was excellent with great choices for continental and hot breakfast.
It’s approximately 10 minutes walk from St. Stephen’s Green shopping centre.
We would love to return.
The hotel is clean, modern, and in a perfect location, which I really appreciated. However, I would not choose to stay here again for a few reasons.
First, the beds were uncomfortable and unusually high, which made sleeping difficult. Second, the rooms are very small, with limited space for luggage or moving around comfortably. There was also a strong scent from a diffuser in the room that I personally did not like and couldn’t turn off. Finally, there is no parking available, which was inconvenient.
Overall, it’s a nice property in a great area, but the comfort and practicality didn’t meet my expectations.
I stayed at The Chancery Hotel in Dublin from 27 to 30 June for three nights with another guest on the LG floor. Overall, it was a decent stay with some clear positives.
The location is excellent and very central, making it easy to explore Dublin. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the hotel itself is modern and well presented.
However, the room was quite small, which may not suit everyone, especially for a multi-night stay. The main issue for both of us was the shower temperature. From the first evening, the water was only lukewarm. After returning later that night, it was even cooler. When I contacted reception, I was told that the temperature is centrally regulated and does not get any hotter regardless of the shower settings.
As frequent travellers, this stood out as particularly disappointing. After a day of travel, a properly hot shower is expected.
While the hotel has many good points, this issue would put me off staying again.
Didn’t stay in the hotel, but went to the bar for drinks. Drinks were good, service was very good. Staff all polite and helpful. It wasn’t until I stepped through the narnia-like button operated sliding bathroom door that I felt like this review was necessary. My ears were met with a chorus of angels, inviting me to empty myself. For some reason, I was always alone here, which made it an exclusive opportunity that I feel as though nobody has ever experienced . The room was clean and futuristic, but still with a helenistic appeal. Leaving the bathroom felt like an opportunity missed, a different life beckoned and I ignored it. Emerging from the basement bathroom felt like emerging from a lucid dream. 10/10 would recommend. Music in the bathroom was like watching Gladiator for the first time.
Highly recommend The Chancery Hotel! We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience.
The Location: Super safe. We walked everywhere we wanted to go, including Trinity College, the Temple Bar area, and The Brazen Head. There are also endless pubs and restaurants within a quick 4-minute walk.
The Rooms: Modern, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and with a huge TV.
The Staff: The entire team was accommodating, kind, and helpful. Ralph was especially wonderful—so conversational and went out of his way to be kind and helpful to us.
If you are looking for the perfect base to explore Dublin, this is it. 5 stars!
