The place

The Chancery sits on Ship Street Great in Dublin 8, on the perimeter of Dublin Castle's ancient walls — the heart of what the hotel markets as the city's oldest neighbourhood.

The concept

The Irish-owned, 150-room hotel opened as a modern four-star property with a dedicated boardroom for up to 12 delegates and a wellness hub. Its sustainability credentials are unusually concrete for a new-build city hotel: it operates completely fossil-fuel free, generating its own electricity via rooftop PV panels and running a grey-water recovery system that feeds its toilets, alongside sensor-operated lighting. It holds LEED Gold certification — at a 70% rating, the highest score under the LEED Hospitality scheme recorded in Ireland or the UK — plus Green Hospitality Certification. Rooms feature herringbone hardwood floors, Irish-made King Koil mattresses, reclaimed Connemara marble and VOTARY skincare amenities exclusive to the property in Ireland.

Dining & wellness

The hotel includes a restaurant and bar; specific F&B concepts and operators have not been disclosed in the sources reviewed.
