The place
The Leinster occupies a row of Georgian townhouses on Merrion Square, one of Dublin's grandest 18th-century squares, in a neighbourhood rich with literary and cultural history — Oscar Wilde's childhood home sits a few doors down. The hotel was marketed on opening as Dublin's first luxury lifestyle hotel.
The concept
Press Up Hospitality Group, the Irish operator behind a large stable of Dublin bars, restaurants and hotels, converted the Georgian terrace into a 55-room property designed by Dublin-based architects ODAA and Henchion Reuter, with interiors by O'Donnell O'Neill built around the square's heritage. The hotel displays more than 300 curated pieces of original art from over 80 artists throughout its public spaces and rooms. Amenities include a boutique gym and thermal suite developed with the team behind Dublin fitness brand POWER, and the O'Dwyer Suite, a dedicated event space.
Dining & wellness
The rooftop restaurant is the opening's headline: the first Irish restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the French-American chef behind restaurants in New York, London and beyond. The Collins Club operates as a ground-floor bar and supper club.
