New hotels in Dublin

Dublin's hotel market has produced four brand debuts in the space of eighteen months. Press Up Hospitality Group opened The Leinster on Merrion Square in January 2024 and The Chancery in Dublin 8 two months later, in March 2024. Ennismore's The Hoxton Dublin followed in November 2025, occupying the historic Central Hotel building on Exchequer Street. Ruby Hotels' Ruby Molly, on Arran Street East near Temple Bar, opened in May 2024 as the Munich-based 'lean luxury' group's first Irish hotel. Accor is adding a fifth debut on a larger scale: Sofitel Dublin Airport, a 412-room hotel the Arora Group is building onto Terminal 2, broke ground in November 2024 and is targeting a late-2026 opening as the first Sofitel in Ireland.

City centre: Press Up, Ennismore and Ruby within a few streets of each other

The Leinster and The Chancery both come from Press Up Hospitality Group but read very differently — The Leinster built around a rooftop restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, his first in Ireland, on the Georgian grandeur of Merrion Square; The Chancery a fossil-fuel-free, LEED Gold-certified new build against the walls of Dublin Castle. The Hoxton Dublin, a few minutes' walk away on Exchequer Street, restored the historic Central Hotel building and built Viking-era ruins discovered on site into its lobby design. Ruby Molly, north of the Liffey near Temple Bar, is the largest of the four at 272 rooms.

Dublin Airport: a fifth debut, built for transit rather than the city centre

Sofitel Dublin Airport stands apart from the other four: a five-star, 412-room hotel built directly onto Terminal 2 by the Arora Group under an Accor management agreement, following a competitive tender the airport authority daa awarded in 2018. It is aimed at transiting and connecting travellers rather than city-centre leisure guests, and is targeting a late-2026 opening.
