The concept The Hoxton's Irish debut opened on 20 November 2025 with 129 rooms across the brand's usual Snug, Cosy, Roomy and Biggy categories. During development, Viking-era ruins were discovered on site and were incorporated into the finished hotel's design narrative rather than removed, tying the building's Victorian shell to a much older layer of Dublin's history. The opening also introduced Groundwork, Ennismore's first nightlife venue anywhere, a 220-capacity space built for dancing and live events.
Dining & wellness Cantina Valentina, a Peruvian restaurant, anchors the food offering; Dollars operates as a sandwich and wine bar; the lobby includes a bar and lounge built around the excavated Viking-era ruins.
Our take Building an entire nightlife brand launch around a single hotel is a bigger swing than Ennismore's usual playbook, and incorporating genuine archaeological finds into the design (rather than just narrating a building's history in marketing copy) is a more literal heritage story than most Hoxton openings manage. Worth checking back on how Groundwork performs as a standalone venue once it's had time to establish itself.

From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the hotel's warm, welcoming atmosphere, a perfect blend of classic charm and modern style. We were greeted by exceptionally friendly staff, and while we waited, we were served a lovely cup of tea, which made us feel instantly at home. Every moment of our stay was enjoyable, thanks to the excellent location and outstanding amenities.
A special mention goes to Sorcha, who seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. Her recommendations were consistently spot-on and greatly enhanced our experience.
If you're planning a visit to Dublin, don't hesitate to choose this hotel for your stay.
What a great hotel. We’ve stayed in so many places in Dublin over the years, and this was one of the most enjoyable. The location is incredible, just a short walk from the heart of the city. The room was great, it’s spotless with air conditioning, very comfortable bedding, plenty of space and curtains that actually keep the room pitch black when closed. It was incredibly quiet too, which is never a given for a city centre hotel. Check-in was super, Sorcha was so lovely to us and a pleasure to chat with! We really enjoyed our break here and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re staying in Dublin.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Hoxton Dublin, and it honestly ranks as one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The location is perfect – ideal for exploring the city and really well connected. The whole hotel is full of so much character while still feeling beautifully luxurious and comfortable.
We brought our dog along, and we couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome. The staff were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived, and they went out of their way to be kind and attentive to our pup too – it made such a difference.
We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our visit, and The Hoxton Dublin will definitely be our go-to hotel whenever we’re in the city from now on. Highly recommended!
I feel a bit conflicted writing this review because, overall, our two-night stay wasn’t terrible, but there were enough small frustrations that the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming.
Although check-in was meant to be at 2pm (I believe), our room wasn’t ready until 4.30pm. The complimentary drinks vouchers were appreciated while we waited, which was a nice gesture.
When we were eventually able to collect our key cards, the process itself was surprisingly slow — each card took five minutes to issue, with a lot of furious typing and back-and-forth at the computer, which was strange.
Our room was a Cosy Up and happened to be an accessible room, despite us not requiring one. Of course there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but the layout seemed to prioritise open floor space, which meant storage was non existent — essentially just three wall hooks and nowhere else at all to unpack. As someone who prefers to settle in properly, I found this frustrating. The bed was positioned directly against one wall, meaning the person sleeping on that side (me) had to climb over my other half to get in and out, which was a pain.
At this price point, I was also surprised that daily housekeeping isn’t automatic and has to be specifically requested.
On the plus side, the Library Bar was pleasant, and the location was convenient.
The hotel is aiming for a trendy, design-led vibe, but some of the more basic practical details didn’t feel fully thought through. Not a bad stay, but not somewhere I’d rush to book again or actively recommend.
We were out exploring Dublin and stumbled across the bars at The Hoxton. Both looked like they had a great vibe, but we ended up at the Lobby Bar and we’re so glad we did! Giulia (hope I’m spelling that right!) looked after us and was super friendly and welcoming from the start. She was awesome, the service was spot on, and the cocktails were amazing. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Dublin! 🍸✨
