The place
Victoria Dockside, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, on the harbourfront facing Hong Kong Island, within New World Development's mixed-use arts, design and retail precinct.
The concept
Rosewood Hong Kong opened on 17 March 2019 inside a 256-metre, 65-storey tower designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox as part of Victoria Dockside, New World Development's mixed-use arts and design district on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. Interior designer Tony Chi conceived the hotel as a 'vertical estate,' translating the layout and feel of a sprawling private manor — distinct wings, varied ceiling heights, a sense of individually decorated rooms rather than a repeated template — into a single vertical tower. It is Rosewood's flagship hotel in Asia and the brand's Hong Kong debut, with most of its 413 rooms and suites overlooking the harbour.
Dining & wellness
The Legacy House serves Cantonese cuisine, including dim sum and Shunde regional dishes, across seven private dining rooms with harbour views. Holt's Café reworks Hong Kong's 1950s cha chaan teng diner culture into an all-day menu; The Butterfly Room, the all-day lounge, displays three works from Damien Hirst's 'Zodiac' series alongside Tony Chi's custom furnishings; and DarkSide is a black-marble jazz bar with a terrace.
