The place
Shing Kai Road, Kai Tak, Kowloon, on the site of the former Kai Tak Airport (closed 1998), adjacent to the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Sports Park stadium.
The concept
Dorsett Kai Tak opened in August 2024 as Dorsett Hospitality International's 10th hotel in its home city and the group's new luxury flagship, a ground-up build on the redeveloped former Kai Tak Airport site — the runway that served Hong Kong for 73 years until the airport relocated to Chek Lap Kok in 1998. The 373-room hotel is inspired by the waterfront's marina setting, with two Presidential Suites each featuring a private ocean-view terrace and barbecue facilities. It earned a BEAM Plus Gold green-building certification and sits directly beside the new 50,000-seat Kai Tak Sports Park stadium, host to Hong Kong's major sporting and concert events.
Dining & wellness
Siete Ocho, an all-day Spanish-Sichuan restaurant with an outdoor garden and four private dining rooms, anchors the hotel's food and beverage offer. Jin Bo Law, a London rooftop-bar import making its first Asian outpost here, sits alongside a 19-by-4.5-metre rooftop infinity pool overlooking the sports park and harbour.
