The concept Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong opened on 15 September 2025 as the Kimpton brand's Hong Kong debut and, by room count, its largest hotel anywhere in the world. The design, led by HBA with public spaces by via, is built around a 'Culture of Time' concept referencing the adjacent Signal Hill Garden and its 1907 Black Ball Time Signal Tower, expressed through red-brick detailing, maritime motifs and shifting spatial rhythms across the 495 harbour-view rooms.
Dining & wellness Birdsong, a 70-seat coffee lounge, serves a bespoke blend developed with Hong Kong roaster Elephant Grounds. JTJA, led by chef Vicky Lau, serves an elevated take on Southwestern Chinese bistro cuisine drawing on Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi flavours. Swim Club, a 54-seat rooftop bar and infinity pool, channels Southern California pool-club style with Victoria Harbour views.
Our take Becoming IHG's largest Kimpton globally is a genuine scale statement for a brand better known for boutique-sized properties, and folding Chef Vicky Lau (a Michelin-recognised chef in her own right) into a hotel restaurant rather than an operator's in-house culinary team is a real signing rather than a marketing line. At 495 rooms, though, the hotel trades some of the intimacy that defines Kimpton's positioning elsewhere for the scale of a large convention-capable property.

Location
The hotel is centrally located in Hong Kong, right near East Tsim Sha Tsui Station and just about a 5-minute walk to the Tsuen Wan Line, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city. It’s also within walking distance of the Avenue of Stars, K11 Musea, the Hong Kong Museums, and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre — perfect for sightseeing without needing to rely on taxis. As a nice bonus, there are coin-operated self-service laundry machines located just behind the hotel on Minden Avenue, which came in handy during our stay.
Room
We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a higher floor, which came with a plunge bath offering absolutely stunning views of Victoria Harbour — a real highlight of the stay. The room itself was thoughtfully equipped: the smart shower let us select our preferred water temperature, and we loved the branded touches like the Dyson hairdryer and Lululemon yoga mat. They also provide stainless steel water bottles, which you can refill at the water dispenser station on your floor — a nice sustainable touch. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping the room spotless with daily cleaning.
Pool & Gym
We didn’t get the chance to go for a swim, but the pool water looked warm and inviting, and the views from up there were just as impressive as the rest of the hotel. There appeared to be poolside service as well, with multiple attendants on hand. The gym was equally impressive, offering great nighttime views, cool towels, and access to both a sauna and steam room.
Lobby & Common Areas
The lobby was beautifully designed with several great photo-op spots, including the bar area and the main waiting area — very Instagram-worthy.
Overall
This was a fantastic stay overall. Between the unbeatable location, thoughtful in-room amenities, and well-maintained facilities, Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Hong Kong.
As someone from the US, we like every hotel nice and roomy. But HK doesnt exactly offer that space. With that said, I booked a room here with 2 full sized beds for my mom and a teenager. It was decent space considering it was 3 ppl with 3 big luggages and 2 small luggages!!
Service: excellent. really pleasant staff and they were helpful with whatever i needed.
Location: it's TST with K11 mall < 5 min walk (tons of food options), 7/11 half a block down, MTR subway downstairs, and ubers and taxis come no problem. Also, easy walk under tunnel and thru K11 Musea to Victoria Harbor. The rooms offer a nice view of the harbor - we even saw a drone show from our room.
Amenities: I used the gym 2-3x...great machines and clean space. Open 24/7. There's also a rooftop pool and steam room, i never go to use those.
Value: worth it.
An absolute masterpiece! Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui completely exceeded expectations. The property is brand new, spotless, and blends modern luxury with vintage Hong Kong charm.
The Premium Central Harbour View Room was breathtaking..the bathtub and massive windows overlooking Victoria Harbour are pure perfection. It’s a true 5-star lifestyle hotel with top-notch amenities.. Flawless stay, can't wait to return!😍
I stayed at the Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui for five nights and had a great experience from start to finish. The room was modern, stylish, and very clean, with high ceilings that made it feel spacious and luxurious. It also had a beautiful view of the Hong Kong skyline, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I was impressed by how well equipped the room was. It had everything I needed, including a travel adaptor, which was a thoughtful touch and made things much more convenient.
My favorite part of the hotel was definitely the breakfast buffet. It wasn't the biggest buffet I've seen, but everything was thoughtfully curated and of excellent quality. There was a great variety of options, making it easy to find something no matter what I was in the mood for. Everything was beautifully presented and well organized, so breakfast became something I genuinely looked forward to each morning.
My stay at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui was excellent!
I had read some negative reviews prior to my stay and after staying I cannot say I experienced any issues with the hotel or service.
The staff were very lovely and politely greeted me as an IHG Platinum Elite.
The room was very clean, luxurious and unique! The plunge bath in the room really completes the experience.
The bathroom does have a slightly unusual design where it feels like it's in the kitchen. However, this isn't a major drawback. The plunge bath was also a little temperamental with the jets. I had to call for a maintenance person to attend on two separate occasions. Unfortunately this is a downside of the baths and there is really not a lot that can be done to fix it. At least there is maintenance on hand to attend at any stage if the bath isn't working.
The friendly staff also efficiently assisted with a room change as the room I was in was not suitable at the time.
The rooftop pool was beautiful and the Lifeguards up there were very friendly and attentive. It was a nice touch how they would set-up the deck chair, provide sunscreen and water for each guest. I can't say I've experienced this level of service at a hotel swimming pool anywhere else.
The bar near the lobby was also great, I visited for social hour and it was a lovely experience with a nice atmosphere.
