The place

111 Iberville Street, in the French Quarter, close to the riverfront and a short walk from Jackson Square and the main French Quarter hotel and dining corridor.

The concept

ONE11 occupies a seven-storey, 1884 warehouse built for the American Sugar Refining Company (Louisiana Sugar Refining) — a genuine adaptive-reuse conversion of an industrial building, and, per consistent local press coverage, the first entirely new hotel permitted into the tightly restricted Vieux Carré historic district since the 1960s. The restoration preserved the building's original brick shell and structure while inserting 83 rooms and suites across eight floors, with the hotel's name and its opening date (11 January, or 1/11) a deliberate pun on the address.
