Hotel Perle
A former office building on St. Charles Avenue reborn as a large-format hotel built entirely around group travel
Open · February 2025
Hotel Perle opened in February 2025 at 757 St. Charles Avenue, converting a building that had spent roughly 40 years as offices back into hospitality use — not as a conventional hotel but as 10 to 11 large-format, multi-bedroom suites built for group travel, with a rooftop pool deck and ground-floor café/bar.

The place
757 St. Charles Avenue, in the Warehouse District/Lower Garden District stretch of the historic streetcar line, previously home to the offices of the Blitch Knevel architecture firm and several law practices.
The concept
The three-storey building at 757 St. Charles Avenue was built as a hotel in the early 20th century but converted to office use in 1985 and stayed offices for roughly 40 years before Urban Properties Development, with Align Venture Capital, converted it back into hospitality use. Rather than standard guest rooms, Hotel Perle offers 10 to 11 large-format suites of 1,400 to 1,800 square feet — three-, four- and five-bedroom units with chef's kitchens, hardwood floors, exposed brick, en-suite washer/dryers and central HVAC — aimed squarely at groups (family reunions, wedding parties, corporate retreats) renting an entire suite rather than individual rooms. The hotel is named for Perley Thomas, the early-20th-century engineer who designed the St. Charles Avenue streetcars still running past the front door.
Dining & wellness
A roughly 2,000-square-foot café/bar occupies the ground floor, and common areas include a rooftop amenity deck with a pool, bar and private terrace overlooking St. Charles Avenue, plus 40 covered parking spaces.
