The place
In the Garden District, a few blocks from St. Charles Avenue and the streetcar line that connects the neighborhood to downtown and the riverfront — one block from The Garden District Hotel, its sister property under the same operator.
The concept
The Blackbird occupies a building that had never operated as a hotel before: it previously served as a children's home. Dallas-based Dreamscape Hospitality converted it into a 13-room boutique property, with interiors by Jeannine Jacob, opening alongside the larger Garden District Hotel a short walk away. Each of the 13 rooms is individually designed, topped by a Premium Suite as the most elevated category.
Dining & wellness
A pool surrounded by greenery with its own pool bar, a lobby bar serving cocktails, and the Blackbird Café for local coffee, custom teas and small bites. Flexible event space is available for weddings and private gatherings, shared with The Garden District Hotel's offering.
