An independent apartment-style hotel inside Little Italy's former National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, the largest of its small operator's three Chicago-area properties.
The Neighborhood Hotel opened its third and largest property in fall 2023 inside Little Italy's former National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, a block of Taylor Street the museum vacated in 2019. The 35 apartment-style suites, each with a full kitchen and washer/dryer, target extended stays near Rush University Medical Center and UIC.
1431 W. Taylor Street, in Chicago's Little Italy, close to Rush University Medical Center, UIC and the United Center.
The concept
The building housed the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame from 2000 until it relocated in 2019, standing vacant afterward until the independent Neighborhood Hotel group — which also runs a Lincoln Park property — converted it into its third and largest location. Every suite is apartment-style, with a full kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer and its own bedroom configuration (studio up to two-bedroom layouts with a queen sleeper sofa), aimed at longer stays near the medical district and UIC rather than short leisure visits.
Dining & wellness
No on-site restaurant or bar; each suite has a full kitchen instead, in keeping with the apartment-style format.
