The concept
The 22-storey Beaux-Arts tower was built in 1929 as a private social club for Chicago's business elite before becoming a hotel later nicknamed "Chicago's Friendliest Hotel." It operated as W Chicago – City Center from 2000 until Park Hotels & Resorts, which bought the property, re-flagged it under Marriott's Tribute Portfolio in January 2025 — restoring the building's historic "Midland Club" name in the process. The relaunch is part of a two-phase revitalisation preserving the Beaux-Arts architectural detailing rather than a ground-up rebuild.
Dining & wellness
The Midland Social Club and its MSC Bar serve regionally inspired dishes and cocktails in the hotel's signature venue; the property also carries close to 12,600 sq ft of meeting and event space.
