Moxy Charlotte Downtown

Marriott's playful Moxy brand arrived in Uptown Charlotte in July 2025 with this 208-room, ground-up hotel steps from the Spectrum Center. Developed by TMGOC Ventures, it swaps room size for shared social spaces — Bar Moxy, a rooftop lounge, and a ground-floor Starbucks.

The place

Located at 125 South Brevard Street in Uptown Charlotte, a short walk from the Spectrum Center arena and the Epicentre entertainment complex, the hotel is a newly constructed building — TMGOC Ventures' second ground-up Moxy project nationally.

The concept

Moxy Charlotte Uptown opened in July 2025 as a new-build entry in Marriott's playful, design-forward Moxy lifestyle brand, built by BL Harbert International to designs from ODA Architecture with interiors by DLR Group. Rooms are compact by design, in keeping with the Moxy format, trading square footage for shared social spaces built around Bar Moxy and a rooftop lounge with skyline views. As TMGOC Ventures' 18th operating hotel and second ground-up Moxy, the project reflects the brand's continued push into Sun Belt downtowns, targeting a younger, price-conscious but design-aware traveler drawn to Uptown's arena and nightlife district.

Bar Moxy anchors the ground floor alongside a full-service Starbucks; a rooftop lounge and patio offer skyline views, with roughly 6,900 square feet of flexible indoor-outdoor event space and 24/7 grab-and-go food options.
