Autograph Collection Hotel, Charlotte South End

White Lodging broke ground in August 2026 on a ground-up, 295-room Autograph Collection hotel at South Tryon and Bland Street in Charlotte's South End: the neighborhood's first full-service lifestyle hotel, built around a wellness-focused fifth-floor pool deck. The project is expected to open in late 2028; the hotel's own branded name has not yet been announced.

The place

The hotel is planned for South Tryon Street at Bland Street in Charlotte's South End, a neighborhood White Lodging describes as one of the city's fastest-growing mixed-use corridors: home to a rising base of technology and creative-sector tenants but, as of the 2026 groundbreaking, served by only one select-service hotel.

The concept

White Lodging broke ground in August 2026 on a ground-up, 295-room Autograph Collection hotel: its fifth Autograph property and the first full-service lifestyle hotel in South End, distinct from the developer's existing JW Marriott Charlotte in Uptown. The project team includes general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie, architects Abeyta Architecture Studio and Corgan Architects, and interior designer Looney & Associates. A wellness-forward program anchors the design: a fifth-floor open-air pool deck with a public steam sauna, cold- and hot-plunge pools, dedicated wellness programming and a spa, alongside a restaurant and bar reachable by its own ground-floor elevator. As of this writing, the property's actual branded name has not been announced, only the site, brand affiliation and developer.

Dining & wellness

A ground-floor, chef-driven restaurant is planned alongside the fifth-floor pool deck's own restaurant and bar; neither has been named. Nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space is also planned.
