The concept
Built from the ground up, the 18-storey, 217-room tower was Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' first property in Charlotte when it opened in November 2017. Cooper Carry designed both the building and, through its in-house Johnson Studio, the restaurant and rooftop-bar interiors. The hotel carries more than 9,300 square feet of meeting and event space, including an event lawn with city views, positioning it as a boutique alternative to Uptown's convention-scale hotels.
Dining & wellness
Angeline's serves modern Italian cooking at ground level, while Merchant & Trade, the rooftop bar on the 19th floor, combines an indoor bar behind floor-to-ceiling windows with an outdoor terrace, a semi-private VIP section and a retractable-roof lawn. The hotel also has a full-service spa and hosts rooftop yoga sessions; there is no pool.
