The place
Uptown Charlotte, rising above the restored Carolina Theatre, which reopened in March 2025 after nearly five decades dark.
The concept
The project pairs a new-build luxury tower with the Carolina Theatre's own restoration, one of Uptown Charlotte's long-dormant landmarks. First announced in 2017, it lost its financing in November 2020 amid the pandemic before Salter Brothers restarted the project in June 2023; construction was underway as of September 2026, though no completion date has been announced. The Foundation for the Carolinas is among the project's partners.
