The place
The hotel is planned for 160 NW 28th Street in Wynwood, Miami's arts and murals district, two blocks from Wynwood Walls, the outdoor street-art museum that anchors the neighborhood's identity and tourist draw. Wynwood has filled in over the past decade with breweries, galleries and restaurants but has not yet had a purpose-built, full-service branded hotel of its own, with visitors instead staying in Brickell, Downtown or South Beach and traveling in for the day.
The concept
Hyatt Centric Wynwood is positioned by its developers as the neighborhood's first full-service, branded lifestyle hotel — a claim built on Wynwood's gap between its daytime draw as an arts and dining district and its lack of hotel rooms within walking distance of the murals, galleries and restaurants that bring visitors there. Robert Finvarb Companies, a Miami-based developer with a long track record of Hyatt-flagged hotels in South Florida (including the existing Hyatt Centric South Beach), is developing the eight-story, roughly 116-room project in joint venture with The Restaurant People, a hospitality group whose involvement points toward a food-and-beverage program built with more intention than a typical branded hotel restaurant. Operations will be handled by MIA Hospitality Management, a management company Finvarb and longtime hotelier Brian Vujnovic launched in 2025 specifically to run this kind of Miami-focused, lifestyle-branded project. As of the most recent reporting, construction had not yet started, with a spring 2026 groundbreaking anticipated; the design language, target guest profile beyond 'arts-district lifestyle traveler,' and firm opening sequence remain to be detailed as the project moves from announcement toward construction.
Dining & wellness
Plans include a roughly 5,900-square-foot ground-floor restaurant, a rooftop pool and bar, and a separate 3,000-square-foot rooftop bar and lounge, alongside about 2,000 square feet of meeting space. The Restaurant People's involvement as a development partner suggests the food-and-beverage program is a priority, but no chef, restaurant name or menu concept had been announced as of the most recent coverage.
