Hotel Indigo Changi Airport

IHG's boutique brand gets a 255-room, 'zero-energy' new build linked to Terminal 2, billed as Changi's — and possibly the world's — first airport hotel to claim the label.

Hotel Indigo Changi Airport

IHG and developers OUE and Tokyo Century broke ground in May 2025 on a 255-room Hotel Indigo directly connected to Changi Airport's Terminal 2, billed as Singapore's first 'zero-energy' hotel. The seven-storey 'Floating Forest' building will add solar power, hybrid cooling and rainwater harvesting alongside a rooftop day club, bar and infinity pool overlooking the airfield, targeting a 2028 opening as Changi's third landside hotel.

The place

The new-build hotel rises at Changi Airport Terminal 2, connected to the terminal by a covered linkway, and will be Changi's third landside hotel once open. Groundbreaking was held on 29 May 2025.

The concept

OUE and Tokyo Century are developing the seven-storey hotel around a 'Floating Forest' design concept, with terraced greenery running up the building's facade. Changi Airport's own newsroom bills it as Singapore's first 'zero-energy' hotel and potentially the first zero-energy airport hotel anywhere, combining solar panels, hybrid cooling, naturally ventilated corridors and rainwater harvesting to offset the building's energy use. A rooftop day club and bar, plus an infinity pool overlooking the airfield and the Jewel complex, are positioned as the hotel's signature spaces for both transiting travelers and non-flying local guests. It will be Hotel Indigo's second Singapore property alongside Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, giving IHG's boutique-lifestyle brand a very different, transit-oriented positioning at the airport compared with the neighborhood-storytelling format it uses elsewhere.

Dining & wellness

No specific restaurant or bar concepts have been named beyond the rooftop day club/bar and infinity pool described in Changi's own announcement; further F&B details have not been published as of this pass.
