Cityplace Tower Hotel
A luxury hotel has been promised inside this 42-story Dallas office tower since 2019, and as of August 2026 it still has neither a confirmed brand nor a start date.
Announced · TBC
First announced in 2019 as a 223-key InterContinental inside Dallas' Cityplace Tower, this adaptive-reuse hotel has yet to open, break ground, or lock in an operator. IHG's involvement appears to have lapsed by early 2025, and developer NexPoint is now said to be finalizing a deal with Marriott as part of a $445 million redevelopment of the 42-story tower.

The place
Cityplace Tower stands at 2711 North Haskell Avenue in the Cityplace district of Uptown Dallas, a 560-foot, 42-story landmark built above the Cityplace/Uptown DART station on the Red, Blue, and Orange Lines, alongside North Central Expressway (US-75). The hotel would occupy eight of the tower's floors, with the balance of the building being converted into roughly 970 apartment units as part of a wider $445 million redevelopment by NexPoint.
The concept
The project calls for an adaptive reuse of eight floors of the Cityplace office tower into a luxury hotel, originally unveiled in 2019 as a 223-key InterContinental slated to open in early 2022. That timeline has since slipped by more than six years: by January 2025, IHG had reportedly deactivated the property's booking code, an operational signal that the InterContinental deal had lapsed rather than merely stalled. NexPoint has since repositioned the hotel as part of a broader $445 million mixed-use overhaul of the tower, alongside close to 970 rental apartments. By December 2025 the developer said it was finalizing hotel concepts with Marriott, with room counts in some filings cited at 221 keys rather than the original 223, and executives pointed to a groundbreaking window of six to nine months. A June 2026 regulatory filing described the redevelopment as about to begin, but no formal Marriott brand has been announced and no visible construction had started as of this writing.
Dining & wellness
No restaurant or bar concept has been disclosed. The 2019 InterContinental announcement referenced an in-house restaurant, full bar, and lounge, but none of that programming has been confirmed under the project's current, still-undecided ownership and brand structure.
