The Stoneleigh, Autograph Collection

Dallas' 1923 Stoneleigh Court Hotel, long known as the Grand Dame of Uptown, has reopened in May 2026 as The Stoneleigh, Autograph Collection after operating as Le Méridien Dallas since 2013. Owner Brookfield's Real Estate Group backed a multi-million-dollar renovation by London studio Fettle, adding a Michael White dining program to the city's second-oldest hotel.

The place

The Stoneleigh stands in Uptown Dallas, the walkable district between downtown and the Katy Trail that has become the city's densest concentration of restaurants and boutique retail. Reverchon Park and the Katy Trail sit at the doorstep for running and cycling, while the Dallas Museum of Art, the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science are a short ride away.

The concept

Built in 1923 as the Stoneleigh Court Hotel and designed by architect Frank J. Woerner, the tower was once described as the tallest building west of the Mississippi and is Dallas' second-oldest hotel, after The Adolphus. Decorator Dorothy Draper gave it its first major redesign in the 1930s, and it has hosted guests including Elvis Presley and Audrey Hepburn in its penthouse suite over the decades. Owned by Brookfield's Real Estate Group, the property operated as Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh from 2013 until a multi-million-dollar renovation prompted a switch within the Marriott portfolio: it has reopened as The Stoneleigh, Autograph Collection, a genuine flag change even though both brands sit under Marriott Bonvoy. London-based studio Fettle led the redesign, reviving Draper's maximalist, art-deco-inflected aesthetic with bold patterns, marbled stone and velvet finishes across rooms ranging from 300 to 1,000 square feet, including the Draper Suite and a top-floor suite with a private terrace.

Dining & wellness

Chef Michael White, a James Beard Award winner, oversees two new venues: Lion's Den, a modern Italian supper club built around seafood-forward, house-made pasta cooking, and Bar Leonessa, an all-day bar and café serving espresso and pastries by morning and cocktails and small plates by night. A secluded outdoor pool with daybeds and shaded loungers offers poolside dining, and the hotel added a fitness center alongside more than 20,000 square feet of event and meeting space.
