The Westin Adelaide
A 33-storey glass tower rising directly out of a century-old Freemasons hall gives Adelaide its first true skyscraper hotel.
Announced · 2026 (exact month not yet confirmed)
Marriott is bringing Westin to Adelaide for the first time, built into a 33-storey tower that keeps the historic Freemasons Hall's facade and grand interiors intact at its base. Due in 2026 on North Terrace, the 236-room hotel will anchor a new mixed-use precinct steps from the Convention Centre and Riverbank. It's a rare case of a genuine architectural landmark doubling as a hotel launch.

The place
The site sits at 254 North Terrace, on Adelaide's institutional boulevard alongside the state parliament, the Adelaide Convention Centre and the city's museum and university precinct, a short walk from the Riverbank and the main rail and tram interchange.
The concept
The hotel occupies levels of the new Keystone Adelaide Tower, a 33-storey mixed-use development built by Freemasons South Australia and Northern Territory with Pelligra Group. Rather than clearing the site, the developers are retaining and restoring the sandstone Freemasons Hall that has stood there for around a century — its hall of fame, marble staircase, original parquetry and ceremonial lodge rooms are being adapted into the hotel's check-in lobby, while the tower rises behind and above the heritage facade. The building will also house a restored Grand Lodge, offices and retail. It is set to become the fifth Westin in the Australia-Pacific region and the brand's debut in South Australia.
Dining & wellness
Plans include a sky lobby, a signature restaurant, a lobby lounge and cafe, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, a day spa and roughly 700 square metres of event and meeting space — a fuller amenity stack than the CBD's existing upper-upscale hotels, on paper at least, pending confirmation once the hotel nears opening.
