The place

The hotel sits at 85-87 North Quay, on the Brisbane River in the city's central business district, within walking distance of Queen Street Mall, South Bank and Eagle Street Pier. North Quay places the property at the edge of Brisbane's CBD, close to the Riverside Expressway and the pedestrian and cycle paths that run along the river, giving both business and leisure guests direct access to the city's core without being buried inside its densest commercial blocks. The riverfront position also shapes the hotel itself, with rooms and the rooftop pool oriented to make the most of city or river views.

The concept

voco Brisbane City Centre is operated by IHG Hotels & Resorts and owned by Vista Hospitality Group, a joint venture between Pro-invest Group and Next Story Group formed to develop and manage voco properties across Australasia; the Brisbane hotel was Vista's first opening. Interiors were designed by Sydney studio JPDC, which drew on the riverside setting for a palette of dark blues offset by voco's signature yellow accents and a hand-picked collection of local artwork, aiming for an upscale but relaxed register rather than a formal corporate feel. The 194 rooms span standard, premium and suite categories, including one-bedroom suites, each finished with sustainable bedding materials, large-format refillable amenities and water-reducing fixtures as part of Vista Hospitality Group's stated 2030 net-zero carbon strategy. The property also carries a substantial events footprint for a hotel of its size, with roughly 1,200 square metres of function space across 11 rooms, including a Grand Chelsea Ballroom for up to 600 guests and an outdoor space with an operable roof, positioning the hotel as much for conferences and weddings as for overnight stays.

Dining & wellness

Kraft & Co. is the hotel's ground-floor restaurant and bar, built as a single flexible space that shifts registers through the day: a café and bakery in the morning, a modern Australian dining room with Japanese-accented dishes at lunch and dinner, and a cocktail lounge serving craft beer, wine and a bespoke cocktail tap by night. A rooftop pool and a 24-hour fitness centre round out the leisure offer, while guests have free access to bamboo bicycles from local operator Wyld Bikes for exploring the riverside city.
