InterContinental Brisbane opened in July 2025 inside a Harry Seidler-designed CBD tower on Elizabeth Street, marking IHG's luxury flagship debut in Queensland's capital. The 319-room hotel, formerly the Hilton Brisbane, sits steps from Queen Street Mall and will undergo a two-year refurbishment starting in 2026.

The concept IHG's luxury InterContinental brand makes its Brisbane debut in the former Hilton Brisbane, occupying modernist architect Harry Seidler's 25-storey tower; a two-year renovation starting in 2026 will overhaul the guest experience while preserving the building's architectural heritage.
Dining & wellness Latitude 27 Bar & Kitchen serves as the hotel's all-day restaurant and lobby bar, alongside an outdoor lap pool and gymnasium; no spa is currently offered.
Our take The Seidler pedigree gives IHG's luxury debut real architectural weight, but the announced 2026 renovation suggests today's rooms are a placeholder for the finished product.

Unfortunately our stay didn’t meet all the expectations that we where having. We arrived late around 1am because the day after we were having our wedding and we were looking to organise everything starting in Intercontinental. But the receptionist over there Emily have been really rude with us because of the 100$ bond. The card machine didn’t work with my phone and the only solution that she propose was to cancel the reservation AT 1am. While my physical credit card was IN THE CAR WITH THE VALET. It’s unacceptable from people of hospitality and it’s not the way you treat guests. Especially when it’s not my card who have a problem but the machine. As she said that the machine only accepts the physical card. For the future customer you should have a machine working with any cards not only the physical ones. We are in 2026 not in 2010 anymore.
The sheets where not properly clean and there were some brown stain over the sheets. And even the bathroom wasn’t clean properly.
Thank you for all other people working there during the day who have been very nice and accessible.
We had a good time and where able to do what we were looking to do but the first 2 impressions where very bad.
I wish you can found some people who like to do their job correctly and doesn’t just expect to receive a salary without doing the minimum for the guests.
Our family of six (2 adults and 4 children aged 6 and under) had a fantastic two-night stay at the InterContinental Brisbane.
From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. A special thank you to Stuart, the Duty Manager, who went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The entire team was warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel right at home.
As an InterContinental Ambassador, I was delighted to receive an upgrade with Club Lounge access, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable for our family.
This hotel is exceptional for families with young children. The dedicated kids' zone was full of toys, and there were plenty of activities and facilities to keep our little ones entertained. It's clear that families are genuinely catered for here.
Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We highly recommend the InterContinental Brisbane to families looking for a luxurious, welcoming, and child-friendly hotel.
Absolutely loved our stay! The location is so central to everything walking distance into all the great shops and restaurants in the heart of the city.
The hotel is so clean and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
The rooms were immaculate and we loved having the interconnecting rooms. Very handy with kids!
The pool was great and the kids loved cooling down after exploring. And us parents loved being able to order poolside drinks.
Buffet breakfast was an absolute favourite with so many children friendly options.
We did the kids high tea which they thought was so cool.
The whole hotel exudes that quiet, classic elegance. We loved it!
Highly recommend!
The Staff was amazing. Especially Kevin from the Concierge Service had excellent recommendations for dinner and drinks and sightseeing.
While the hotel has an impressive architecture and looks amazing, the rooms were a bit dated. If you can ask for a more modern room.
The breakfast was amazing as well!
All in all: definitely a place to book again!
The old ( Hilton Brisbane) now Intercontinental Brisbane is about to get an amazing facelift!
So within 12 months this hotel will be the hottest place to be and stay! Watch this space!
Meanwhile, as the aesthetic gets improved you cannot improve on the impeccable service at this property. Highest recommendation
