Tempo by Hilton Fort Worth Near Southside
Filed for a six-story tower over Magnolia Green Park, this 155-room Tempo would become Near Southside's largest hotel — if Hilton ever confirms it.
Announced · NC
Developer Hemphill Hospitality has filed city plans for a 155-room, six-story Tempo by Hilton at 1200 Hemphill Street, overlooking Magnolia Green Park in Fort Worth's Near Southside. Design firm Type Six is behind the wellness-oriented project, which would include a restaurant, bar, fitness center and meeting space, but Hilton has not formally confirmed the location and no construction start has been independently verified.

The place
The site sits at 1200 Hemphill Street in Fort Worth's Near Southside district, between West Rosedale Street and West Magnolia Avenue, directly overlooking Magnolia Green Park. It is one block from the West Magnolia Avenue restaurant and retail strip, including Paris Coffee Shop and BREWED, and would be the largest hotel in a neighborhood that has added more than 3,000 housing units over the past decade but has very little existing hotel inventory.
The concept
The project is a ground-up, six-story new build proposed by Hemphill Hospitality, an Irving, Texas-based developer, with architecture, structural and MEP design by Fort Worth firm Type Six. Urban Design Commission filings describing the roughly 88,000-92,900 sq ft building were submitted in summer 2024, with a facade the design team describes as referencing the historic character of the Magnolia Avenue corridor. Tempo is Hilton's fitness-and-wellness lifestyle brand, positioned for the "active, ambitious traveler," with some Tempo properties offering in-room Peloton equipment. As of the initial July 2024 press coverage, Hilton had not formally confirmed the Fort Worth Near Southside address, and local reporting explicitly describes the construction timetable as unclear. Construction-permit database records list an approximately $10 million project value with a registered construction window somewhere in the 2025-2026 range, but no independent news source has since confirmed a groundbreaking, and a June 2026 Fort Worth Report roundup of Near Southside/Stockyards hotel news did not mention this project at all. This property is unrelated to the separate 138-room Tempo by Hilton proposed for the Fort Worth Stockyards district by a different developer.
Dining & wellness
Filed plans call for an on-site restaurant and bar with a patio adjoining Magnolia Green Park, boardroom-style meeting space, and a 24-hour fitness center in keeping with the Tempo brand's wellness positioning. Guests would valet-park via the nearby Magnolia Green parking garage. No restaurant operator, spa, or pool has been announced.
