Le Méridien Fort Worth Downtown opened in spring 2024 inside the long-vacant former Hotel Texas Annex, a 1970 hotel extension that had sat empty since 2006. The four-year adaptive-reuse project delivered a 188-room, mid-century-styled boutique hotel with a Parisian-Texan restaurant and rooftop lounge in the heart of downtown.

The place

The hotel occupies 811 Commerce Street in downtown Fort Worth, inside the former Hotel Texas Annex building — originally built in 1970 as a 230-room extension of the adjacent Hotel Texas (now the Hilton Fort Worth), connected by a since-removed pedestrian bridge over Commerce Street.

The concept

The Annex operated as hotel rooms until 2006 and then sat vacant for roughly eighteen years. Starting in 2020, developer Blueprint Hospitality and design/build firm Premier — working with Sandvick Architects on the adaptive-reuse architecture — spent four years converting the empty shell into Le Méridien Fort Worth Downtown, a 14-story, 188-room hotel that opened in spring 2024. It is a genuinely new hotel operation, under a new brand, new ownership and new management, built inside a long-dormant structure rather than a renovation of a hotel that had continued operating. Interiors led by Premier's Leslie Wynne pursue a mid-century modern look intended to blend European flair with Texas character, with floor-to-ceiling windows in many rooms and courtyard-pool or downtown views.

Dining & wellness

Bouvier Brasserie serves a menu described as blending Parisian grandeur with Texas soul. Annex, the rooftop lounge, offers cocktails, light bites and live music with skyline views.
