The place

Bowie House sits at 3700 Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth's Cultural District, on the site formerly occupied by the Ginger Man pub and, before that, Rick's on the Bricks restaurant — within walking distance of the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

The concept

Broken ground in January 2022 and opened December 1, 2023, Bowie House is Auberge Resorts Collection's first Fort Worth hotel and its 19th property in the United States. Architecture and interiors firm BOKA Powell designed the three-building, ground-up complex — a 106-room boutique hotel plus 11 separate townhomes around a central courtyard, all sitting atop a 225-stall underground garage — pairing brick and cast stone with contemporary glass. The hotel's identity leans hard into Fort Worth's ranching and cowboy heritage: some 400 pieces of Western-themed art fill the property, and rooms include hat racks, boot benches and boot shines alongside marble vanities and personalized in-room bar carts. Owner Jo Ellard has framed it as blending that heritage with contemporary luxury rather than restaging a theme-park version of it.

Dining & wellness

Bricks and Horses, led by chef Antonio Votta, serves a menu built around Fort Worth's ranching heritage — steaks, wild boar chop, lobster thermidor. The hotel has a rooftop pool terrace on the second level, a banquet hall on the top floor, and a full-service spa and gym.
