A 2018 Oxford Road tower drops its Crowne Plaza flag for Hyatt's first Regency-branded hotel in Manchester.

Hyatt Regency Manchester reopened the former Crowne Plaza Manchester Oxford Road under Hyatt's Regency flag on 10 January 2020, alongside its sister long-stay hotel's switch to Hyatt House — the brand's UK debut — within the same Lume building on Oxford Road. The 212-room hotel and its building are unchanged since their September 2018 opening; only the operator and signage moved from IHG to Hyatt.

The place
55 Booth Street West, within the Lume building on Oxford Road, Manchester's university and hospital corridor south of the city centre.
The concept
The Lume building opened in September 2018 as two separate IHG-branded hotels — a 212-room Crowne Plaza and a 116-room Staybridge Suites long-stay property. IHG and Hyatt agreed to re-flag both in 2019, and from 10 January 2020 the Crowne Plaza became Hyatt Regency Manchester Oxford Road while the Staybridge Suites became Hyatt House Manchester/Oxford Road, marking Hyatt House's UK debut in the same building. The physical hotel is unchanged; only the operator and brand switched, a little over a year after the building first opened.
Dining & wellness
A ground-floor restaurant and bar, a club lounge, a fitness centre and seven meeting rooms serve the hotel, largely carried over from its Crowne Plaza configuration.
