The concept Hyatt Centric's Puerto Rico debut rebuilds the former Verdanza Hotel, with V Architecture, 3MG, Baskerville and landscape architect EDSA behind a $30 million transformation. The 223 rooms and suites, most with city or partial ocean views, target design-conscious travellers wanting a resort-adjacent stay without a full resort footprint.
Dining & wellness Alba serves Puerto Rican cuisine under executive chef Efraín Cruz, Espresso Lab covers coffee, and guests get shuttle access to the oceanfront Vivo Beach Club plus a resort-style pool deck, jacuzzi and a kids' splash pad.
Our take The Vivo Beach Club shuttle is the smart move here — it borrows a genuine beach-club experience the hotel's own footprint doesn't provide.

We had a great 4 night stay. Rooms were comfy and clean. Location was super convenient to airport and only 15 mins from OSJ.
The pool was terrific! It could use some more umbrellas as it was too hot to bake in the sun.
The hotel could use a few amenities like wait service poolside and music. There should be more lounging areas outside other than the pool chairs. Some nice shady seating or hammocks would be nice for anyone who doesn’t have a balcony.
Overall a great stay
This hotel is beautiful, we arrived around 5pm and wanted to be close to the airport for our early 7am flight. Our room was incredibly clean and my kids enjoyed the pool. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The pool bar was open until 10pm which was nice, we were able to enjoy drinks and food near the pool, they also have the option to take your drink or food to go. They also had a hot tub and splash pad area. Towels were provided near the pool. I would highly recommend, we felt safe and enjoyed our stay.
Absolutely beautiful hotel located in the heart of Isla Verde! The lobby and entrance are luxurious. The coffee shop in the lobby was an amazing bonus for a morning pit-stop, and their pastries were delicious. The rooms themselves were clean, beautiful, and spacious. We selected a balcony room and our view of the pool/ocean in the distance was spectacular. The hotel offers access to Vivo Beach Club with complimentary transportation, which was a huge bonus. The hotel is also located in an area which makes it accessible by walking to many restaurants, gift shops, bars, and Isla Verde beach itself. We felt completely safe and at home during our stay— and only wish it could have lasted longer! If I could point out a single flaw, it would be that housekeeping was lacking. We requested it twice during our stay and never received a turnover. Calling the desk to ask for supplies never seemed to work, either. But these things didn’t diminish from our fantastic stay!
Our stay was average overall. Check-in was efficient, and the front desk staff processed our arrival quickly. However, little information was provided about the property's amenities, such as the pool, nearby beach access, dining options, or other services. As first-time guests, additional orientation would have been helpful.
Our room with two queen beds was clean and met expectations. The pool area is relatively small, and food and beverage prices on-site were higher than expected.
One positive feature is the complimentary shuttle service to Vivo Beach Club, which is approximately a 5–10 minute drive away depending on traffic. The hotel's location is convenient, with shopping and beach access within walking distance.
Travelers should be aware that the property appears to cater heavily to conventions and business travelers, which may influence the overall atmosphere and vacation experience. Because this is a newer/remodeled hotel and there is limited information available online, I would recommend researching the property carefully and setting expectations accordingly.
Based on my experience, I would rate the hotel 3 out of 5 stars. While the accommodations were clean and the location was convenient, the guest service experience left room for improvement.
I’m really impressed! 5 minutes from a great beach, gorgeous pool, the room was big and well designed/laid out, and super close to the airport while still being close to downtown. The cafe downstairs has delicious espresso. Would definitely stay again as a landing pad when getting into or out of PR!
