The place

Citizen House occupies the second floor of The Citizen, a new 12-story, 160,000-square-foot tower at the northeast corner of NW 5th Street and Robinson Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City, across from the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

The concept

Citizen House opened in 2024 as the hospitality component of The Citizen, a purpose-built downtown tower developed by Bond Payne and Renzi Stone that also houses a members-only social club, executive workspace, and retail. London- and New York-based Michaelis Boyd designed all three, giving the 16 apartment-style suites — sized from roughly 250 to nearly 1,000 square feet — the same electric-blue, richly patterned look as the club spaces above them. With only 16 rooms and full guest access to the building's fourth-floor social club, Citizen House functions less like a conventional hotel than a private residence for hire: there's no large lobby or check-in desk logic, and its scale is a deliberate bet that Oklahoma City has a market for a genuinely small, high-design luxury stay downtown.

Dining & wellness

Chef Miguel Acosta runs the kitchen, serving seared regional proteins and small plates through the club's restaurant and private dining rooms; The Living Room pours seasonal cocktails, and an unmarked speakeasy handles late-night drinks and karaoke. Guests also get access to a premium fitness center on the building's third floor.
