Timbri Hotel San Francisco, Curio Collection by Hilton

Hilton's first Curio Collection hotel in San Francisco occupies part of the Bjarke Ingels-designed Serif tower at Market and Turk Streets. Opened in 2022 as The LINE San Francisco and reflagged Timbri in January 2025, the 236-room property pairs greenhouse-inspired interiors with a rooftop restaurant, lobby bar and café.

The place

The hotel sits at 33 Turk Street at the corner of Market Street, in San Francisco's Mid-Market neighborhood, at the point where Union Square, the Tenderloin and SoMa converge. It occupies part of a 12-story mixed-use tower on a triangular site, with dual lobbies opening onto both Market and Turk Streets, within walking distance of the theater district and Moscone Convention Center.

The concept

The hotel occupies part of Serif, a purpose-built 12-story mixed-use tower conceived by Bjarke Ingels Group with Handel Architects as architect of record, completed in 2022 on a triangular site. The tower combines 242 residential units with the hotel's guest rooms behind a textured facade with varied window openings — a genuine new build rather than a conversion. The hospitality space opened in September 2022 as The LINE San Francisco, with interiors by Los Angeles designer Sean Knibb and San Francisco firm BAR Architects & Interiors built around a 'city nature' concept mixing greenhouse-style plantings with an art program of local Bay Area artists. In January 2025, the property was reflagged as Timbri Hotel San Francisco, joining Hilton's Curio Collection — the brand's first Curio in the city — while retaining its original design and ownership.

Dining & wellness

Dining centers on Rise Over Run, a Mediterranean-inspired rooftop restaurant, bar and solarium on the 12th floor with panoramic skyline views and an outdoor terrace with fire pits. At lobby level, Dark Bar serves spirits and highballs alongside small plates, while a café covers espresso drinks, juices and pastries.
