InterContinental Orlando

IHG, Flag Luxury Group and Unicorp National Developments are rebuilding International Drive's former Wyndham Orlando Resort from the ground up as a 700-room InterContinental Orlando, targeting a 2028 opening after fully demolishing the prior 613-room property. The luxury flagship is planned with five restaurants, a spa, and roughly 106,000 square feet of meeting space aimed at Orlando's convention trade.

The concept

IHG signed the deal with Flag Luxury Group and Unicorp National Developments in August 2024, choosing to fully demolish the prior 613-room Wyndham Orlando Resort — a 16-building, villa-style property — rather than convert it, and rebuild from the ground up. The 700-room hotel is planned with five restaurants and bars, roughly 15,000 square feet of spa and wellness space including a pool and fitness center, about 106,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a business center and a Club InterContinental lounge — a scale built explicitly to compete for large groups and conventions on I-Drive.

Dining & wellness

Five dining and drinking venues are planned: a full-service restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a lobby bar and lounge, a coffee shop, and a pool bar and grill.
