The place

The property sits on Universal Boulevard, close to Universal Orlando's Epic Universe theme park and the Orange County Convention Center.

The concept

This is a genuine new-build, ground-up property, developed in partnership with Japan's Daiwa House Group and combining IHG's wellness-oriented EVEN Hotels brand with the extended-stay Staybridge Suites under a single dual-branded roof: 120 EVEN rooms built around fitness and recovery, alongside 168 Staybridge suites with kitchens for longer stays. Shared amenities include a roughly 1,500-square-foot Athletic Studio, a 24-hour marketplace, a game room, a resort-style outdoor pool, guest laundry, long-stay storage units, and a courtyard with barbecue grills and a pet-walking area.

Dining & wellness

The EVEN Hotel portion runs its own dedicated reception and guest-facing food and beverage service, separate from the Staybridge side of the building, consistent with the brand's usual standalone format even inside a shared building; specific restaurant or bar concepts were not detailed in sourcing available at the time of writing.

I was delighted to say I was one of the first ever to stay at this hotel property, and the first guest to stay in Room 262 during the property's soft opening. This hotel is actually a dual-brand hotel property, combining IHG's EVEN Hotels brand, and the Staybridge Suites extended stay brand. The hotels share a front desk as well as a MASSIVE lobby for a hotel of this caliber, but have two sets of elevators (both of which connect on every floor). I loved the shared in-lobby game space, working area, and the grab-and-go market area, including self-checkout. Of note, the self checkout machine refused to let me charge an item to the room, but not a huge issue either way. The fitness center was also large, with a direct view into the pool and outdoor grilling space. Of note, some features may not be available during the early opening phases of my stay- for instance, no rooms were available on the higher floors of the hotel, and only one elevator in each set seemed to be functional. However, as the hotel fully opens, this will get better. The check-in experience was awesome- you could tell that, whilst still learning due to being newly opened, the staff was super passionate about being part of the hotel, and the story behind the hotel. At one point, I noticed that there was a spill in the elevator, and within 10 minutes of me reporting it, had been cleaned up. Bravo! The room, while slightly compact, was suited well for a lower-priced hotel. I found the exercise items in the room- yoga mat- to be a unique touch, and I recall seeing on the website some rooms even go as far as an in room exercise bike. The location being near to Epic Universe and walking distance to a Walgreens, Chick-Fil-A, and 7/11 are all really helpful. Ultimately, this is a solid hotel property that won't disappoint.

Recently opened hotel, rooms were great, nice design, clean and very useful if you are visiting the universal parks. Service was amazing, everyone at the front desk was really helpful during our stay, shoutout to Alexander, Tristan, Malik. They are still working on the wifi stability, but it is expected of a new hotel. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Hotel is basically brand new and very clean. Two things really bothered me: The alarm clock was never turned off between guests which resulted in me being loudly awoken at 6am. Secondly, there is a sensor on the lights in the bathroom which resulted in the lights going off while I was taking a shower which is obviously not very fun. The hotel is definitely clean and well maintained otherwise.
