The ENGLiSH Hotel, Las Vegas, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The ENGLiSH Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio property developed by Z Life Co. and operated by PM Hotel Group, opened March 2, 2022 as the first hotel purpose-built for the 18b Arts District — an adults-only, four-story, non-gaming property with 74 rooms and chef Todd English's Pepper Club as its restaurant. Z Life broke ground in April 2025 on The English Residences, a 120-121-unit hotel-condo companion building across the street, targeted to open in late summer 2026.

The place

The hotel sits at 921 South Main Street at Coolidge Avenue, in the heart of the 18b Arts District, downtown Las Vegas' gallery-and-restaurant quarter a short walk from Fremont Street and a few minutes' drive from the Strip. When it opened in 2022, it was the neighborhood's first purpose-built hotel, arriving alongside — rather than after — the district's growth in independent restaurants, bars and galleries.

The concept

Developer Z Life Co. and operator PM Hotel Group built The ENGLiSH Hotel as a four-story, non-gaming, adults-only (21+) boutique property that opened March 2, 2022 with 74 rooms, positioning it as a design-forward alternative to both Strip mega-resorts and Fremont Street's casino hotels. Coverage at opening described the look as bright, open and giving off a 'New York feel,' and general manager Steve Dennis framed the property as 'a restaurant with a hotel' rather than the reverse — a positioning built around chef Todd English's involvement as a named partner, with room-rate menus offered to dinner guests as an incentive to book a room. Z Life broke ground on April 25, 2025 on The English Residences, a companion hotel-condo building across the street with 120 to 121 units — a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom layouts with kitchens and in-unit washer/dryers — as part of a larger, six-building Midtown Plaza development surrounding the original hotel. Condo owners will have the option to place their units into a rental pool, and the building carries the same Tribute Portfolio affiliation as its predecessor; a late-summer-2026 opening has been targeted, meaning it may be delivering guests around the time this entry is published, but its completion had not been independently confirmed as of the most recent sourcing.

Dining & wellness

The Pepper Club, the hotel's restaurant, serves Japanese- and Mediterranean-influenced small plates and craft cocktails under chef Todd English, doubling as the property's public-facing identity more than a typical hotel restaurant would. Outdoor amenities center on a secluded, adults-only pool and lounge; the hotel has not publicized a dedicated spa, and any wellness offering beyond the pool deck should be treated as unconfirmed.
