AC Hotel & Element Las Vegas Symphony Park

The place

The hotel occupies a site on South Grand Central Parkway at Symphony Park Avenue, in the 61-acre Symphony Park district of downtown Las Vegas — a former rail yard redeveloped since the mid-2000s into a mix of cultural venues, medical offices and residential towers. Neighbors include the World Market Center furniture-and-design complex directly across the street, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the Discovery Children's Museum and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. It sits roughly a seven-minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip and a short trip from the Fremont Street casino corridor, giving the property a business- and culture-oriented address rather than a gaming one — a deliberate first for a district that had no hotel of its own until this opening.

The concept

Symphony Park's city council approval dates to 2019, but this specific project broke ground in early 2024 and opened September 9, 2025 (a formal grand-opening celebration followed on October 16), developed by Dallas-based Jackson-Shaw and designed by architecture firm Cooper Carry. Crescent Hotels & Resorts took over management of what both companies describe as the largest AC Hotel/Element combination in Marriott's global system: a five-story, roughly 261,530-square-foot building split into 322 AC Hotel rooms — Marriott's minimalist, Euro-inflected lifestyle brand — and 119 Element rooms, the extended-stay line built around kitchens and sustainability features. It is also billed as the first non-gaming hotel in Symphony Park's history. The dual-brand structure lets the property chase two different travelers under one roof: AC Hotel's shorter-stay business and leisure guest, drawn by proximity to the Smith Center and the World Market Center's design-trade shows, and Element's extended-stay guest, relocating or working downtown for weeks at a time. Shared infrastructure includes seven entertainment suites and a 19-foot steel sculpture by artist Larry Domsky in the public areas, alongside 18,000 square feet of flexible meeting space anchored by a 10,000-square-foot ballroom the developer calls the largest unobstructed ballroom in the Las Vegas Arts District — pitching the hotel as much at conventions and local events as at overnight leisure stays.
