The Myriad Hotel

The Myriad Hotel opened in September 2023 inside a former disco-ball factory on Baxter Avenue, turning the building's unlikely manufacturing history into a 65-room boutique concept for Louisville's Highlands neighborhood.

The place

The Myriad occupies 900 Baxter Avenue in the Highlands, a walkable, restaurant-dense neighborhood south of downtown. The building previously manufactured the majority of the world's disco balls before later serving as a telephone company facility.

The concept

Developed by Weyland Ventures under its Common Bond Hotel Collection and affiliated with Hilton's Tapestry Collection, The Myriad turns an unusual industrial history into its whole design premise. WorK Architecture and Weyland's in-house design lead Ashlyn Ackerman built the 65-room hotel around the disco-ball story: an installation of mirrored balls hangs in the lobby, and the elevator itself turns into a spinning disco ball with a "party button" that triggers lights and music. Rooms come in 15 different styles, including two bunk rooms, giving the property a variety-driven, almost residential feel rather than a single repeated room type — an approach suited to the Highlands' younger, nightlife-oriented crowd.

Dining & wellness

The hotel runs two food and beverage concepts, Paseo and Switchboard, alongside Bar Keep, a retail and event space, plus a swim club with a lounge pool, cabanas and a poolside bar.
