Origin Hotel Kansas City sits at 1001 E. Riverfront Drive in the River Market district, on the Berkley Riverfront overlooking the Missouri River — the first hotel ever built on that stretch of riverfront.

The concept

Origin Hotel Kansas City opened in September 2024 as new construction and the first hotel on the Berkley Riverfront, a formerly industrial stretch of riverbank redeveloped around CPKC Stadium, home of the NWSL's Kansas City Current. Owned by The Thrash Group and operated by Tandem Hospitality Group under the independent Origin Hotels collection, the five-story, pet-friendly property leans on local partnerships — with businesses like Bar K and Charlie Hustle — and locally inspired art and design rather than a corporate template. Its riverfront position puts it within walking distance of the streetcar extension and the stadium, making it as much a sports-and-events play as a boutique-design one.

Dining & wellness

The onsite restaurant, Show Pony, serves regional, farm-to-table fare including house-made pastas and locally sourced proteins, alongside more than 4,800 square feet of meeting and event space.
