The place
The 24-story tower stands at 1515 Wyandotte Street in downtown Kansas City, linked by a purpose-built skybridge directly to the Kansas City Convention Center and within walking distance of the Power & Light District, T-Mobile Center and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The concept
Loews Kansas City Hotel was built from the ground up as downtown's first new full-service convention hotel since 1985, giving the city the large-scale meetings infrastructure it had long lacked. Its 800 rooms and suites and roughly 60,000 square feet of function space, including 22 meeting and banquet rooms and what is billed as the city's largest ballroom, were conceived around group and convention business rather than pure leisure stays. Construction finished in spring 2020, and the hotel opened its doors on June 1, days after its original date, as one of the first major U.S. hotel openings to navigate the early pandemic. It immediately became downtown Kansas City's largest hotel by room count, with amenities — an indoor pool, fitness center and spa — built to serve both conference delegates and overnight leisure guests staying for concerts or games nearby.
Dining & wellness
The hotel operates a restaurant with a wraparound balcony overlooking downtown and the Power & Light District, a lobby bar, and a street-level specialty restaurant, alongside an indoor lap pool, fitness center and spa.
