Cherry Warehouse Hotel

Kansas City hotel owners Ryan Hiser and David Tran added a third boutique property in July 2025, turning a 1930 Union Hill warehouse into a 10-room hotel with a rooftop terrace and no on-site restaurant.

The place

The hotel sits at 2936 Cherry Street in Union Hill, a small industrial-turned-residential pocket of Midtown Kansas City wedged between Crown Center and the Country Club Plaza corridor, a few minutes' drive from downtown and the Crossroads Arts District, and within walking distance of Midtown dining and vintage shopping.

The concept

Cherry Warehouse Hotel converts a 1930 storage warehouse that had never previously operated as a hotel into a 10-room boutique property, the third opening from Kansas City owners Ryan Hiser and David Tran after The Truitt and Aida Hotels, both set in converted Southmoreland mansions. Where those two properties work from residential architecture, Cherry Warehouse starts from an industrial shell, keeping exposed structure and warehouse volume while Tran, who also curates the pair's other hotels, handles interiors sourced from Kansas City's design and art community.

Dining & wellness

There is no restaurant or bar on site; the hotel operates as a lodging-only property with a guest lounge, an urban garden, complimentary morning snacks, Nespresso coffee, and a rooftop terrace. No spa or pool. F&B beyond that has not been announced, and reservations point guests to the surrounding Union Hill and Midtown dining scene instead.
