New hotels in Knox-Henderson

Knox-Henderson is a compact district just north of downtown Dallas, straddling US-75 (Central Expressway): Knox Street on the west side, Henderson Avenue on the east, joined by the bridge over the highway. It grew out of a streetcar suburb and kept the low-rise scale that goes with it — boutiques and restaurants in converted houses and small commercial buildings, rather than towers. That is why it has had almost no hotel stock for decades, and why the one opening we track here matters: The Knox, a 140-room Auberge Resorts Collection property announced for late 2026, will be the district's first hotel of that scale.

What to do in Knox-Henderson

For a weekend

The district is walkable end to end in about twenty minutes, which is rare in Dallas. Knox Street on the west side concentrates the retail — national brands alongside independents — and its restaurants spill onto the sidewalk in a way most of the city's dining does not.

The Katy Trail is the other reason to be here. The rail-to-trail conversion runs about three and a half miles from Victory Park north through Uptown, with an access point at Knox Street, and it is the most practical way to move between Knox-Henderson, Uptown Dallas and downtown without a car.

Henderson Avenue, across the highway, is the lower-key half: smaller bars and restaurants in converted bungalows, busier at night than during the day.

For a longer stay

Knox-Henderson sits between several of Dallas's more interesting districts. Highland Park and its shopping village are immediately north-west. Deep Ellum, the live-music district east of downtown, is about ten minutes by car. Downtown Dallas and the Arts District — with the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center — are ten to fifteen minutes south.

A car remains close to necessary in Dallas: DART's light rail serves downtown and Uptown better than it serves Knox-Henderson, and Dallas Love Field is about fifteen minutes west, DFW International roughly thirty to forty minutes.

The Knox is announced for late 2026 with 140 rooms and suites under the Auberge Resorts Collection banner, as part of a four-acre development that also includes 47 ultra-luxury residences. It is the only opening we track in the district, and it will change the neighborhood's profile: until now, visitors who wanted to stay in walking distance of Knox Street had to base themselves in Uptown instead.

Uptown, a short walk or trail ride away

Uptown is the closest concentration of tracked openings. The Stoneleigh, Autograph Collection opened in May 2026 in the walkable district between downtown and the Katy Trail, from around $140. Moxy Dallas Uptown and AC Hotel Dallas Uptown both occupy a new 19-story tower at 2910 N. Hall Street on the McKinney Avenue corridor, announced for summer and autumn 2026. Hôtel Swexan, at 2575 McKinnon Street in the Harwood District, opened in June 2023 from around $520.

Park Cities and SMU

Hotel Mockingbird, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel opened in March 2026 at 6070 N. Central Expressway from around $145, and Graduate by Hilton Dallas sits at 6101 Hillcrest Avenue across from Southern Methodist University, from around $190 — both a short drive north along the same highway.

Downtown

Thompson Dallas occupies the lower floors of The National, a 52-story tower filling a downtown block, from around $250; The Statler Dallas, Curio Collection by Hilton is at 1914 Commerce Street from around $250.
