Trump International Hotel & Tower, Gold Coast is a proposed 91-storey, 285-room hotel-and-residential tower for Surfers Paradise — the Trump Organization's first Australian project, developed with Altus Property Group. The place
The site is at 3 Trickett Street in Surfers Paradise, the Gold Coast's dense high-rise tourist strip.
The concept
This is the first Trump-branded project announced for Australia: a proposed 91-storey, roughly 335-metre tower that would become the country's tallest building, combining a 285-room hotel with 272 residential apartments. Developed with Altus Property Group, the plan puts hotel and residential services across a three-level podium with an exclusive Beach Club, a retail plaza of high-end brands, event facilities and a swimming pool on the lower floors, adding more than 3,400 square metres of commercial, retail and dining space to the Surfers Paradise precinct. As of February 2026 the project had not yet received development approval from Gold Coast City Council and faced organised local opposition, including a petition against it that gathered more than 26,000 signatures.
Dining & wellness
Plans describe a Beach Club with a swimming pool, a retail plaza of high-end brands, event facilities and "luxury dining" space, but no restaurant names, chefs or operators have been announced.
News
May 12, 2026 — The Trump-branded deal for this project has been scrapped, roughly three months after being announced. Developer Altus Property Group said it ended the Trump Organization association because the brand had become "increasingly toxic" in Australia; the Trump Organization countered that Altus failed to meet its financial obligations under the deal. Altus says the Surfers Paradise tower project itself remains "live" and it intends to pursue it under a different luxury brand; no development application has been submitted to Gold Coast City Council.
