The place
1723 Waverly Place, at the foot of Lafayette Park in the Lafayette Square neighborhood, one of St. Louis's oldest historic districts and a short drive from downtown, Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch.
The concept
Truitt's first property outside Kansas City, and its first-ever adaptive reuse of a mansion the brand did not previously operate under its own name: a roughly 5,700-square-foot Second French Empire residence built in 1884 for David Constant Jaccard, co-founder of the Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co. The developers are restoring original features (coved ceilings, carved woodwork and marble fireplace mantels) for hospitality use. Founded in Kansas City by Ryan Hiser and David Tran, Truitt positions itself as a small-format, design-forward alternative to conventional hotels, and this expansion applies that formula, at only 8 rooms, to a single historic house rather than a purpose-built property.
Dining & wellness
No restaurant, bar, spa or pool has been announced; Truitt's Kansas City property operates without an on-site restaurant, and nothing published so far indicates F&B plans for St. Louis.
