Live! by Loews opened in February 2020 as the anchor hotel of Ballpark Village's $260 million expansion, a new eight-story, 216-room build designed around Cardinals history in partnership with the team and developer The Cordish Companies. The concept HKS Architects' Hospitality Studio designed Live! by Loews around St. Louis Cardinals history after studying the team's Hall of Fame and Museum for inspiration: check-in pods are numbered with retired jersey numbers, a library called ‘The Dugout’ displays memorabilia, and terrazzo flooring traces the blueprints of the old and new Busch Stadium. Nineteen of its 216 rooms are balcony suites facing the stadium, and the hotel installed what was reported as the first outdoor screen of its kind broadcasting a direct Busch Stadium game feed.
As the hospitality centerpiece of Ballpark Village's $260 million expansion, the hotel was built specifically to capture game-day and event traffic rather than to serve as a general-purpose downtown hotel, which shapes almost every design decision inside it.
Dining & wellness Clark & Bourbon, a steakhouse on the ground floor, anchors the food program alongside Bar Bourbon, which focuses on bourbon flights; the hotel counts four restaurants and bars in total plus event space opening onto The Terrace.
Our take This is a hotel built for one audience — Cardinals fans and event-goers — and it delivers exactly that experience extremely well, down to the jersey-numbered check-in pods; travelers with no interest in baseball or Ballpark Village will find less reason to choose it over a downtown alternative.

The hotel was great overall! Its location near the stadium made it the absolute perfect choice, especially with the ease of parking and convenience for attending events.
It was smaller than I expected, but the staff from beginning to end was absolutely amazing. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay.
The only issue we experienced was when we returned to our room after the fire alarm had gone off. It was definitely annoying, but it was clearly not something within the hotel’s control, and the staff handled everything professionally.
We had no other issues with the room or the hotel itself. The only real disappointment was the bathroom toilet paper. For a hotel of this caliber, having very thin, single-ply toilet paper was surprising and didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the experience.
Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel. The location, parking convenience, and especially the amazing staff made for a very enjoyable experience. With just a few small improvements, it would be an even better stay.
We arrived at the hotel about 9 PM. Our only negative was we weren't familiar with the parking but once we figured out where it was, everything else went smoothly. It was nice that it was a secure parking garage with cameras everywhere. As soon as we walked into the hotel, everyone was so nice and pleasant. We didn't encounter one single rude employee, which was refreshing as well. When we checked in, we were informed we had been upgraded to the King suite which was so nice! The view of the stadium was beautiful and me being a Cardinals fan, was the best part for me lol. We did attend a game while we were there so it was nice to just walk across the road to the stadium. We also did a historic tour that included the Arch and a Riverboat cruise, which was also nice. The tv didn't have a lot of stations to choose from (didn't even have a sports channel to watch the Cardinals) but honestly I am glad so that my husband and I could spend more intentional time together and also be out and about experiencing the downtown area. I loved our time away and can't wait to go back!

Our stay at Live! by Loews – St. Louis was nothing short of exceptional. Visiting during the Christmas season made the experience feel even more magical—the holiday décor and festive atmosphere throughout the hotel created such a warm, elevated, and memorable stay.
We did have a minor glitch with our room at check-in, but the staff handled it flawlessly. They went above and beyond to resolve the issue quickly and professionally, and what truly stood out was the follow-up! The next day, staff personally checked in with us to make sure everything was perfect and reminded us to reach out if we needed anything at all. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated.
Our room had an incredible view overlooking Busch Stadium. Even during the gray winter days, the room was filled with beautiful natural light that made the space feel bright, comfortable, and inviting.
The service across the board was outstanding. The front desk team was welcoming and attentive, and the valet staff was just as impressive, and the housekeeping and maintenance staff were friendly, efficient, and genuinely kind.
A highlight for our family was the thoughtful gesture from the front desk to give my child a teddy bear representing Busch Stadium, which absolutely made their day.
This hotel truly delivers on both experience and service. We can’t wait to come back!
I couldn't recommend this hotel enough! From the moment you walk in, greeted right away plus smells amazing!! Got to check in early, our hotel view was AMAZING. They brought up a birthday cheesecake slice for my husband, so kind! Hotel was clean, our room was extremely clean. Parking was reasonable also! We will definitely be back
We attended a convention at The America Center and chose this hotel because of the location. It was a convenient 10 minute walk straight down the street. It was also next to the ballpark, literally feet’s away. Several restaurants nearby and the area was nicer than the rest of downtown. I’ve seen some reviews about the hotel being noisy because of the ballpark, but we were there during the week and it was very quiet. I would imagine it could get quite loud during events so maybe avoid staying here unless you are also attending the events.
The lobby was nice and smelled wonderful, and my son’s favorite part was the water they had there for guests. The first day, it was water infused with cucumber. The next day was pineapple. One of the days it was strawberry and lemons. He would always grab a cup every time he passed it.
The cleanliness of the hotel was also immaculate. I love how they have a digital tv remote where you scan the QR code and can control the tv from your phone. I typically avoid touching the remotes in hotel rooms because I’ve heard they usually don’t get cleaned.
The beds were super comfortable for me. If you like a firmer mattress, you may not like this because it feels like it has a fluffy pillowtop mattress cover, and it felt like a cloud! The shower pressure was a little bit strong for me, but some people love it.
But the best part of the experience was the customer service! You can communicate through text which is super convenient. They were always so responsive and checked in with us often. We had several DoorDash and Shipt orders sent to us and they have a dedicated table in the lobby for these, which made it so easy. I even had an Amazon package delivery (because we needed more items for the convention that I couldn’t find nearby), and they held the package at the front desk until I could get it.
Overall, it felt like a 5 star hotel with a boutique feel. We travel quite often so I have stayed in plenty of hotels, and I would put this in the top 5.
