Kimpton Hotel St. Louis Downtown West

Kimpton Hotel St. Louis Downtown West is a ground-up, seven-floor hotel with 170 rooms, 10 of them suites, at the corner of Market Street and Jefferson Avenue. It shares its plot with a six-floor Staybridge Suites, and the pair was announced as one dual-branded project at $126 million, with MarkZeff designing the Kimpton. The opening was first announced for early 2025. It has not happened, and no new date is confirmed.

The place

The site sits in Downtown West, the stretch that links Midtown to the downtown core. The two hotels occupy part of the former Wells Fargo Advisors campus, and early plans pushed them back from Market Street to leave room for the Brickline Greenway and a landscaped buffer.

The Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, the new MLS stadium and the Stifel Theatre are all close. Forest Park is farther out. The Staybridge entrance is planned on Beaumont Street.

The concept

Kimpton is IHG's boutique brand, and this would be its first hotel in St. Louis. The developers are Midas Hospitality and Green Street Real Estate Ventures, who announced the Kimpton and the Staybridge together. Reported costs for the project vary, from $120 million to $126 million.

Meeting space totals more than 6,600 square feet. Guests are promised morning coffee and tea, an evening social hour, a 24-hour fitness center, free bike rentals and in-room yoga mats, and pets stay without a fee.

Next door, the Staybridge Suites is the extended-stay half of the pair. It has 129 suites on six floors, each with a full kitchen and a workspace, plus a 400-square-foot boardroom, free hot breakfast, 24-hour laundry and an outdoor fire pit that hosts a weekly social evening.

Dining & wellness

The Kimpton plans three food and drink venues: a main-level restaurant, a lobby lounge and a rooftop bar. Early site plans put the restaurant on the second floor, so the final layout may differ. No operator or chef has been named, and menus are not public.
